In the field of the diode-pumped solid-state laser engineering, the thermal induced distortion in laser crystal limits the output power and beam quality. We summarized the very promising properties of the concept of the slab laser with hybrid resonator. With such a diode pumped Nd:YVO₄ slab laser setting 16 W CW output laser were demonstrated, the expression of the thermal lensing was obtained and the thermal effect was analyzed.
