    Abstract

    A method of nonlinear wavelet transform image compression coding based on spherical coordinate transform was introduced according to the correlation among the high frequency sub bands from wavelet transform. In wavelet shrinkage,the radial part in spherical coordinate was processed by hyperbolic shrinkage. The result of experiment proves a better achievable result on its rate and the quality of the reconstructed image.
