Abstract

Two-photon resonant four-photon ionization spectra of m-cresol and cresols in the vapor phase in the two-photon energy region of 35180￣36002 cm-1 have been observed. The vibrational bands observed in the first electronic excited state are assigned.The effects of different substituents of the benzene ring on the vibrational modes are discussed.
