Optical limiting by using thermal self defocusing

Optical limiting of CW lasers by utlizing thermal self-defocusing has been studied in detail. Analystic formula that describe the relations between input and output power of the limiter are given. Experimental results are in good consistence with theoretical simulations.

Electrooptic effect in dyeooped polymer light waveguide film

Light waveguide thin film of dye DR-2GLF doped polystyrene is prepared by solution deposited method, and poled by electric field. The EO effect of poled film are affected by dye concentation and poling time, and EO coefficient y≈35pm/V, which is larger than inorganic EO materials such as LiNbO3.

CW ring frequency stabilized and doubled Ce:Nd:YAG laser with 6 mirrores

Using a CW ring frequency stabilized and doubled Ce:Nd:YAG laser with 6mirrores, we obtained 500 mW second harmonic generation (0.53 μm) as pumping power is 2 kW. The intensity fluctuation is less than 7% and the frequency stability is better than 10 MHz.

Small-signal gain and intracavity loss of a CW chemical oxygen-iodine laser

This paper first connects rotational plate method with variable output coupling method and gets small-signal gain of 1.60×10-3 and 1.75×10-3 cm-1, intracavity loss of 12.0%. The first Stokes pulse output with pulse width of less than 6ns is produced by placing a methane gas cell at high pressure inside closed resonator of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The cell sealed windows simultaneously act as the functions of focusing and collimating lens, which has reduced bulk of the laser and wastage inserted in the cavity.
