Journal Information

Chinese Journal of Lasers (ISSN 0258-7025), which is regarded as a flagship journal in China, reports on current and influential research in the field of lasers. Founded in 1974, the journal is administrated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is sponsored by the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, CAS, and the Chinese Optical Society, and is published by the Chinese Laser Press. The featured columns of Chinese Journal of Lasers include laser physics, laser manufacturing, materials and thin films, measurement and metrology, beam transmission and control, optical communications, biomedical photonics and laser medicine, nonlinear optics, holography and information processing, remote sensing and sensors, spectroscopy, quantum optics, micro and nano optics, terahertz technology, rapid communications, etc. The special issue is a feature of the Chinese Journal of Lasers. There were two special issues in 2019: “Large-Scale Laser Facilities in China”(Vol. 46, Issue 1, 2019), “Ultrafast Nonlinear Optics” (Vol. 46, Issue 5, 2019) and “Terahertz Science and Technology” (Vol. 46, Issue 6, 2019).

Chinese Journal of Lasers is indexed in several databases, including the Engineering Index (EI), Scopus, Abstract Journal (AJ), Chemical Abstract (CA), Information Service in Physics,Electronics Technology and Computer and Control (INSPEC), and the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD). It has been referred to as “100 Chinese Top S&T Journals,” “100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China,” “Outstanding S&T Journals of China,” and “The Excellent International Impact Academic Journal of China.” From January 2018, the Chinese Journal of Lasers started to select cover paper based on the evaluation of peer reviewers and the editor-in-chief, and it adopted a color cover.

According to the Chinese S&T Journal Citation Reports (Core Edition) (CJCR) 2018, the impact factor of the Chinese Journal of Lasers is 1.378, which is No.1 among the 17 journals in Optoelectronics and Laser Technology in China.

Peer Review Process

1.First Review

Manuscripts are screened by the editorial office regarding the manuscript format and the duplication rate. Manuscripts are then preliminarily evaluated by the editors-in-chief and editorial board members to ensure they meet the journal's rigorous scientific standards and are eligible for peer review.

2.Peer Review

Manuscripts that meet these criteria are single-blind reviewed by at least two referees. The referees provide detailed comments and recommendations to help the editorial board members arrive at the appropriate editorial decision.

3.Author Revision

Authors should carefully address all reviewer comments when submitting a revised manuscript. The revision time is 10/14 days, and may extend under special occasions.

4.Re-review

Revised manuscripts are evaluated by the editorial board members and may be sent to the original or new referees.

5.Appeal

Authors may appeal to the editorial office to reconsider a rejection decision if they believe that the reviewers have seriously misjudged the manuscript. All appeals will be given careful consideration. The editorial board members and/or editors-in-chief will determine if further consideration is merited or if the original decision should stand.
