    Abstract

In this paper, the advances of atmospheric aerosol mass spectrometry were reviewed, from off-line measurement methods to real time methods, especially laser desorption/ionization (LDI) time-of-flight mass spectrometry as a method that can measure simultaneously the size and components of single aerosol particle. The principle and application of the LDI time-of-flight mass spectrometry were showed in this paper also.
