Abstract

The diffuse band originated from 2¹∑⁺_u─x¹∑⁺sub>gtransition was theoretically calculated and compared with the results of Luh′s, Milosevic′s and Gondal′s experiments. The results of the calculation are coincident with the experiments by Luh and Milosevic, and the interpretation that the diffuse band around 600 nm are from 2¹∑⁺_u─x¹∑⁺sub>gtransition can be rejected.
