    Abstract

    According to the imaging theory of partially coherent light, the intensity distribution at the output plane of the Foucault knife-edge phase test is obtained.The results indicate that the information about phase change of the input object function can be obtained under given conditions, when it is illuminated by an incoherent quasi-monochromatic source. A method for observing the phase information of objects is given and the imaging cases are analyzed.
