    Abstract

    The polarization properties of elliptical core triangle lattice oblate hexangular structures photonic crystal fibers(PCF)were investigated by full vector localized basis function model based on polymer PMMA. The dependences of relative holes-spacing rate and phase modal birefringence and group birefringence were numerically analyzed,and compared them with those of triangle lattice square hexangular structure. The results show that the polarization properties of elliptical core ablate hexangular structure PCF are strongly dependent on structures parameters of PCF. Due to chromatic dispersion,the group birefringence is larger than phase birefringence. But,by choosing suitable relative hole-diameter or relative holespacing rate,it is possible to realize the single mode operating of high birefringence and zero polarization mode dispersion at a given wavelength. This conclusion is useful for preparing high birefringence polymer photonic crystal fibers.
