    Abstract

The optimum input power density is presented by analyzing and calculating the discharge tube gas temperature of a 100 W copper vapor laser to avoid the “black center of beam”. The optimum thickness of alumina fiber can be determined by analyzing and calculating the coaxial heat conductivity loss. The theoretical calculation is verified well with the experimental data. Therefore, the method of determining the gas temperature in discharge tube and the thickness of alumina fiber is built up.
