Information of the erbium-doped fiber's absorption and emission cross sections is very important for theoretical analysis and optimum design of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. In this paper, we offered a approximate method for animating these cross sections, which performed a direct calculation using the experimentally measured dsta of loss spectrum.
