    Abstract

Laser-induced plasma spectroscopy of metal materials including copper, magnalium and steel was investigated. The effects of delay time and ambient atmospheres on the emission characteristics of laser-induced plasma spectroscopy were studied. Experimental results show that proper delay time and ambient atmospheres of argon can notably enhance signal-to-noise ratio of spectra, thus the accuracy of elemental content analysis was improved.
