    Abstract

The basic principle of stereo imaging for surveying of earth terrain from space is described in this paper. Three stereo imaging methods are discussed. A set of stereo imaging system consisting of three CCD linear array scanning cameras is designed and manufactured. The stereo imaging experiment in lab are completed. Necessary softwares for stereo imaging are compiled. Expectant 3D images of terrain are obtained in the experiments.
