    Abstract

    Waveguide loaded with dielectric, which is used as focal plane array element in millimeter wave imaging, was analyzed. Input properties of the element were analyzed and optimized for matching between feed waveguide and radiation element by finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The coupling efficiency of radiation waveguide and the Airy′ pattern from imaging lens was calculated, and compared with that of other array elements.
