An image compression project based on the combination of lifting wavelet transform and fractal was proposed. Making the best of the coefficients' distribution,the algorithm was consisted of improved fractal coding in low-frequency of lifting wavelet transform coefficients and SPECK coding in other parts.The experimental results show that the quality of the image was improved at enhancing compression efficiency.
