    Abstract

A wide waveband, large aperture and target optical imaging lens is designed by using Zemax software, which is applied to recognize license plate in intelligent transportation monitoring system. By using the infrared corresponding technology, the lens can still obtain clear imaging in the dark or night. The near infrared central wavelength is 850 nm. The Zemax multi-configuration design method is used to make visible light and near-infrared light confocal. According to the achromatic theory, appropriate material is chosen to eliminate chromatism and the maximum focal shift is 44 μm. After analyzing the lens application parameters, the F number is set to 1.2 and half field of view is 13°. In addition, the lens goes with Sony ICX841 CCD image sensor and the target surface is one inch. And the pixels size is 3.7 μm×3.7 μm. Furthermore, MTF of all fields are more than 0.3 at the spatial frequency of 135 lp/mm.
