    Abstract

    We developed a program to retrieve aerosol optical thickness from GMS visible channel data. It consists of radiative transfer algorithm to retrieve aerosol optical thickness from satellite visible channel radiance and the graphics user interface to show aerosol optical thickness on the Windows platform real time. With this software we analyzed the aerosol spatial distribution and variation of Bohai gulf region and obtained satisfactory results.
