    Abstract

In order to provide a straight, natural and bi-directional interaction method for the Augmented Reality (AR) system,a prototype system is proposed by integrating systems of eye gaze tracking and AR.The system can track user’s fixation region of interest in real time by eye gaze tracking, and reflect the features of AR system. In accordance with the basic demands of integration, combined with the virtual camera model of optical see-through Helmet Mounted Display (HMD),the principle of the system and the method of optical design and registration are introduced in detail. The experimental result shows that the integrated prototype system is effective in human computer interaction, which establishes a sound foundation for the applications of eye gaze tracking and AR.
