    Abstract

Operational modular imaging spectrometer (OMIS), an advanced optical mechanical scanning imaging spectrometer was developed. It has 128 spectral bands ranging from visible to thermal infrared wavelength. Its application fields include geology, agriculture, forest, ocean, etc. The system designs, running configurations and functions of OMIS were introduced. Multiple examples of remote sensing applications of OMIS since 2000 were briefly given.
