    Abstract

    In growing alexandrite crystals, a novel inclusion has been found. The inclusions are quantitatively analysed by electronic probe and the mechanism for forming inclusions is suggested. In our Bridgman MgF2 crystals, the inclusions in <001> direction have also been observed.
