    Abstract

    The image segmentation method based on deformable model was presented. The internal and external force fields were improved on the basis of a balloon's force field. By controlling the direction of the force field, Snakes were shrinked and split continuously, and at last the image was segmented into different sections. The experiments of synthetic and real images show that the method is effective.
