Abstract

All-optical wavelength conversion (AOWC) technologies are very important for the development of WDM optical networks. After the conventional AOWC is reviewed, the basic principles of three new-type AOWC technologies are described repectively. Their experimental results and characteristics are introduced. Furthermore, the research direction of AOWC is discussed briefly.
