    Abstract

A fiber Bragg grating current sensing configuration is introduced and experimented. High-current is conversed to low-voltage by Rogowski coil. Based on magnetostrictive effect of piezoelectric ceramic low-voltage is conversed into fiber Bragg grating wavelength shifts, which are conversed into phase shifts. Measuring the phase shifts of the signal can demodulate the current. At the range from zero to 400 A, the sensing sensitivity of this scheme was demonstrated to be 0.0473 tad/A, experimentally. It basically matches the prospected value of 0.0589 rad/A.
