    Abstract

    By using basic vector of point group irreducible representation as the wave function, the crystal field parameters, Racah parameters, spin-orbit interaction parameter and configuration parameters of Pr3+ ion in PrP5O14 crystals are calculated in this paper. Both J mixing and no-J mixing cases are considered. The energy levels of J mixing case are given and assigned for corresponding irreducible representations. The calculated result is in agreement with experiment.
