    Abstract

    The impact on the absorption-dispersion properties in an M- type five-level atomic system interacting with external fields system are discussed by using numerical analysis.It is shown that changing the control fields can influence the absorption-dispersion properties regularly.The electromagnetically induce transparency windows can be obtained if the parameters are taken appropriately.The number of transparency windows is proportion to the number of control fields and the width of the transparency windows is related to Rabi frequencies.It is found that the electromagnetically induce transparency windows in the system narrow gradually as decreasing control fields Rabi frequencies while the dispersion of medium would be enhanced and slow-light would be realized.
