To overcome the shortcomings of the traditional method of on-call search for the unknown-heading target by using single-layer bounding array, an active search method using multi-layer bounding array is put forward, which is weakly dependent on the judgment of the enemy submarine's possible sailing speed. The parameter determination model is also constructed. The proposed method can shorten the process of discovering targets, complete search tasks in a limited time, and improve the search efficiency.
