    Abstract

    The phase fluctuations of received IF signals by atmospheric turbulence for CO2 laser homodyne communication system are investigated theoretically and experimentally. The results show that the system is helpful to overcome the random phase fluctuation of the received IF signals. The noise effect due to the phase fluctuations by atmospharic turbulence can be neglected.
