    Abstract

In this paper, the fatigue specimens with center hole and metallography specimens made by sheet of 1420 Al-Li alloy were processed by intense pulse laser, then the surface of laser shock processed zone was observed by SEM, and the fatigue test and hardness measurement were processed. Results showed that the surface of 1420 Al-Li alloy sheet was not destroyed by intense laser or shock waves, while laser shock processing could improve the hardness and fatigue properties obviously, and strengthened zone was similar to the laser spot in size, and the hardened depth was up to about 1 mm.
