    Abstract

A new active mesh generation method based on image content and mesh node motion vector estimation approach are presented. The mesh-design procedure ensures that the edge of active mesh conforms to objects' edges, which will avoid the failure of motion estimation if different moving objects exist in the same triangular patch. Active mesh can ideally overcome the block artifacts, because it is a continuity-preserving transforms. Active mesh can get more reliable approximation of the real motion field even on local moving details.
