    Abstract

    The two dimensional (2D) EBG structure is measured and calculated by using of the suspending microstrip method (SMM). The characteristics of UC EBG and PV EBG are firstly measured and simulated by using of SMM. Comparing with other methods, the characteristic of 2D EBG is exhibited more obviously owing to use the strongly coupling structures. The novel suspending patch EBG antenna is also presented. The compact structure of the antenna is more advantageous for EBG applications.
