    Abstract

    Based on the Helmholtz equation, the Finite-Difference Beam Propagation Method in the convention is modified and a new arithmetic is advanced.Comparing the modified method with the traditional method and calculating the transmission mode in the AWG by the new method , the conclusion is gotten:the modified method can calculate precision of the mode and improve the accuracy.
