    Abstract

Full-color holographic waveguide display usually adopts the complex coupling structure of multi-layer gratings or the combined structure of multi-layer waveguide, which results in heavy weight and large volume of the system. To solve this problem, a configuration of dual-color holographic waveguide display with single plate and mono-layer grating is proposed. This configuration adopts three gratings to realize the input and output of the light and the two-dimensional expansion of the exit pupil. To display the red and green color with a better uniformity in the wide field of view, the shape and films of grating are designed and optimized by using the theory of Rigorous Coupled-Wave Analysis (RCWA).
