    Abstract

    The target tracking technology has been widely and deeply applied in many areas such as unmanned device positioning and navigation, surveillance equipments and medical diagnosis, which has considerable development prospects and very important applied and commercial values for the field of target tracking at real time. The Kamade-Lucas-Tomasi (KLT) target tracking algorithm is based on the optical flow method. The KLT target tracking algorithm is implemented on the OpenCV platform. The tracking effect testing is performed to the simulation experiment material video, and the tracking effect of the KLT target algorithm is tested again under the fixed and moving backgrounds. The error analysis is performed. Experimental results show that KLT target tracking algorithm has a good tracking effect, faster calculation speed, and it is robust, so it has a good development prospect.
