    Abstract

    Speetroscopic properties of Pr3+ ion and Na5Pr(W04)4 crystal are reported. The crystal belongs to the tetragonal system, with space group I41/a and cell parameters a=1.l563 nm, c=1.1468 nm. The absorption, fluorescence, excitation and infrared spectra of such crystal were measured and analyzed at room temperature. The strong fluorescence emission of high colour purity of such crystal suggests that it would be a novel laser material.
