    Abstract

The effecting factors of infrared radiation thermometry in oil fired kiln and the drawbacks of traditional temperature measurement methods were analyzed. The working waveband of infrared temperature transducer was decided according to the features of the gas in kiln and the configuration of the transducers to be used. A satisfactory result of less than 5 °C for elimination of gas effect was obtained. To counter the high ambient temperature round transducers, an ambient temperature compensation method for transducers was developed and a circuit design formula was derived, making the change of temperature indication of the transducers less than 0.3% of the temperature measured when the ambient temperature changes between 5~67 °C .
