Recently, the 5th International Symposium on High Power Laser Science and Engineering (HPLSE 2023), to be held on October 16-19, 2023 in Suzhou, China, announced its six plenary speakers. The conference is organized by Chinese Laser Press and co-organized by General Department of National Major Project, CAS, Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP) and Collaborative Innovation Center of IFSA.
Six outstanding plenary speakers from China, France, Romania and Republic of Korea will deliver Plenary Talks on the morning of 17 and 18 October.
Prof. Xian-Tu He from China Academy of Engineering Physics will discuss Experimental confirmation of high neutron yield in the hybrid-drive scheme at 100 kJ laser facility.
Prof. Chang Hee NAM, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology will highlight Strong field light-matter interactions explored with a multi-PW laser.
Prof. Jianqiang Zhu, Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics will describe Research on direct drive laser facilities and key technologies.
Prof. Dimitri Batani from University of Bordeaux will show Future for inertial fusion energy in Europe: A roadmap.
Prof. Ioan Dancus from ELI-NP will introduce The 10 PW laser system at ELI-NP.
Prof. Zhiyi Wei from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, will present Generation of high average power XUV laser.
Over 90 invited speakers all over the world will share the latest achievements and progress in four topics, including High energy density physics, High power laser systems, Laser components for high power laser and Advanced laser technologies and applications.

The International Symposium on High Power Laser Science and Engineering (HPLSE) were held every two years since the year of 2014, and aims at bringing together worldwide scientists and engineers working on the topics of high energy density physics, high power laser systems, high power laser related components, and advanced laser technologies and applications. The HPLSE Symposium, which shares the same name as the journal High Power Laser Science and Engineering, has become one of the largest international conferences in the field of high-power lasers and high-energy density physics.
