A composite median filtering algorithm and an adaptive median filtering algorithm are emphatically presented. For these two improved median filtering algorithms, the images with the noises such as Gaussian noise, salt and pepper noise, composite noise and high density noise were put through the remove noise process. Noise removal results of the algorithms on different types of images were compared.
