Chinese Laser Press, a leading academic publisher in optics and photonics in China, announced that it will start a new review journal Photonics Insights in 2022. The journal is hosted by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Photonics Insights will be a high-quality, peer-reviewed, Diamond Open Access journal. It will feature review articles which present the current status of a given topic, with background, research progress, conclusions, and possible future developments.
The new journal covers the traditional core subjects of the field (e.g., laser optics, quantum optics, non-linear optics, optical communication and sensing, imaging, nanophotonics, near-field optics, etc.) as well as the intersection of optics and photonics.
Professor Lei Zhou from Fudan University and Professor Din Ping Tsai from Hong Kong Polytechnic University are invited to serve as Co-Editors-in-Chief.
"For such a high-level review journal, Photonics Insights will certainly become must-read journal for postgraduates and young scholars to quickly keep up with the latest developments in the frontiers of optics." Professor Lei Zhou defined the journal's focus.
"Photonics Insights will quickly share the most cutting-edge research work in photonics with readers, clearly explaining the connection from basic to the original intention and motivation of the research." Professor Din Ping Tsai stated their goals.
Lei Yang, General Manager of CLP, believes Photonics Insights will become a new platform for optical and photonics researchers to read and publish high-quality reviews. It will strengthen the journal portfolio of CLP, by which CLP will provide better knowledge services for scientific researchers."
