Several problems in the application of the phase encoding plate formed by bleaching silver halide film in image processing is described. This paper consists of four parts: 1) when the phase change of the encoding plate is limited within the definite range, the output image after bleaching is the same as before; 2) when the phase change surpasses the definite range, the pseudocolor image appears; 3) the problems of the application for pseudocolor density encoding; 4) the pseudocolor phenomenon can also appear in the other typs of tho phase encoding plate. The theoretical analysis and experimental demonstration are offered in this paper also..

Moire fringes, that are equivalent to a lateral-shearing interferogram, can be yielded in the carrier-frequency photography with masks of Eonchi rulings. A new method is now preposed to color-code these fringes simply by use of a dispersion prism. It results in the enhancement of sensitivity and leads to an output visually more pleasant. First, a special oarrier-frequenoy photographic system with a small aperture is introduced. Based on it, the process of color-coding by dispersion is then discussed in detail, and correspondingly, the important formulas for the object refraction and the related coding colors are derived. The experiments are given, too..

A new technique for archival storage of color films through a three primary color grating formed by interference between diffraction orders of black-white orthogonal Ronchi ruling in a white-light processor is described. Compared with conventional encoding method, there are some advantages suoh as no Morie fringe, the encoding frequence can be changed, and the encoding process can be simply completed in one step. The color and resolution of retrieved image are satisfactory and the results of experiment coincide with theoretical analysis..

Theory and experiment of the encoding of a color image via contact screen pulse-width modulation on a single piece of high contrast black-and-whitw (B&W) film and the reconstruction of the image in color from the film in a white-light imags processing system are described. The three primary colored components of a color image are sequentially and separately encoded on a high contrast B&W film. During the encoding process, the original image, filtered by a primary filter, is contact-printed through a one-dimensional contact screen onto the high contrast film. The three colored components are encoded with the line cells of the screen oriented at three different and properly separated angles. After encoding and development, the B&W film may bo placod at the input plane of a white-light image processor and an image can thou be reconstructed in color by appropriate filtering through three primary colors at the Fourier plane of the processor..

It has been obtained that an optimal resonator insensitive to thermo-perturbation can be singled out from the common resonators insensitive to thermo-perturbation, and it s combination with the optimal resonator insensitive to axial shift of the mirror is only the optimal dynamic stable resonator. The criteria of the optimal resonator insensitive to thermo-perturbation and the optimal dynamic stable resonator have been dofined by graphic method; at the same time the numerical analyses for such optimal dynamic stable resonator are given..

A new type of resonator called telescopic-crossed prism resonator is proposed and investigated on a repetitave YAG laser. Theoretical analyses and experimental rosula have showed that this resonator has a high mechanical stability and excellent transverse mode selectivity even if a YAG rod with moderate optical quality is used. By using this resonator, it is easy to obtain a beam which can give an output power of 10 MW andts divergence angle less than 1 mr..

Unstable beam direction of the laser is caused by many factors. The important one is that the tilt of reflector in resonator is not stable. This article studied the way to stabilize the beam direction of a He-Ne laser by stabilizing the angle of the resonator. First the eigen-modes of confocal cavity in which the reflector is symmetrically tilted have been calculated, and the shift of the laser beam in direction for this cavity has been discussed. For the flat-concave cavity with stabilized beam direction, R/L = 1 has been found out theoretically by means of equivalence of oonfooal and flat-concave cavity. In consideration of the stable region for tho flat-conoave cavity and the stability of laser intensity should be larger. The He-No laser of β=1.2 has been mado, for which the directional stability is evidently better..

In this paper the coupled-wave equations, which involved Hyper-Raman polari-zability of coherent polariton-Raman mixing in polar SHG crystals is presented. The equations have been solved in terme of small signal, phonon and Raman-driven-parametric approximation. The solution shows that coherent polariton-Raman emissions near the double-frequency of pumping lager beam may occur in polar SHG crystals which are driven coherently by the stimulated Raman scattering of theintense pumping beam. The coherent Raman emissions may be directly converted from second harmonic or from fundamental wave beam alone, and also from both waves through different individual processes of coherent Raman mixing. These processes have their own independent phase-mismatohing factors. The latter two processes may ooonr simultaneously in proper case. The conclusion above has been proved true in an experimeni; on crystal LiIO3 in which incident pumping intensity was up to 3.0×109 W/cm2..

HUANG RUIPING, CUI TIKJI, ZHANG SHOUWEN, and WANG HUI
N2 molecules at high pressure were pumped into v = 1 level with a high power CW DF laser as a result of pressure-induced absorption. Using an Ar+ ion laser as the source we measured the anti-Stokes Raman scattering and obtained the vibrational relaxation time of N2 at room temperature to be 0.46±0.30 sec?atm.

Laser induced resonant fluorescence, sensitized fluorescence and laser "burn through" techniques have been used to study the electron collision rates in a well diagnosed helium plasma, with electron density ne = 5 × 1014cm-3 and electron temperature Te = 1.1eV, for excited states in neutral helium. Comparisons are made with theoretical calculations of a multi-level collisional radiative model of helium atom based on widely accepted electron collision rates. The model fails by substantial amounts to prodiot the plasma bohavionr. The experimental results suggest that electron oollisional transfer rates between excited states of helium atom are mnoh lower than those predicted by theory..

The TiO2 films are deposited on the Si substrate to avoid spectrum-peak shift induced by electricity. It is shown that main composition in both absorptive TiO2 film and transparent TiO2 film are TiO2. In the absorptive TiO2 film partial TiO2 is changes into titanium oxide with low valence. The large amount of C on the surface of TiO2 film is responsible for the surface absorption..
