The spectral properties of sky background are discussed during the solar radiation transfer in clear atmosphere at 0.45~0.95μm. The results on the different solar zenith, different observational azimuth and given aerosol conditions are presented. All calculations are given based on Rayleigh scattering law, molecular absorption database, Mie scattering law and discrete-ordinate method(DOM). The theoretic analysis of spectral properties varied with aerosol kinds, wavelength, visual distance and observational azimuth is presented. By comparing with measurment, it is proved that the results accord with the actual observation data..

The atmospheric aerosol has important influence to atmospheric radiation and light propagation, but scale height is the key parameter which reflects aerosol height distribution. So using continuous spectrum sun-photometer and forward scatter visibility sensor, we measured the atmosphere column optical characteristic and plan extinction coefficient on earth on the base of two experiments, respectively. The characteristic of aerosol scale height of visibility light-wave is obtained: with wavelength increasing, aerosol scale height declines;generaly, aerosol scale height in winter is higher than it is in summer for the place of experiment condition;the more wavelength is high, the more aerosol scale height is little..

From November 2005 to January 2006 when air is clear, a FieldSpec(r) Pro spectroradiometer is used in conjunction with a custom-designed telescope based on integrating sphere to make spectrally continuous measurements of directly transmitted solar spectral irradiance in Hefei. With Langley method, the data is anlyzed to get aerosol optical depth from 350nm to 2500nm. The average optical depth is 0.39156 at 550nm,aerosol optical depth decreases with wavelength increasing. The average Angstrom exponent κ(=0.18895) and ν(=3.26504) are obtained by fitting the optical depth on Junge distribute. The result shows that the small particles are primary in Hefei..

Wind lidar based on Fizeau interferometer detects displacement of fringes of the Fizeau due to Doppler shift by a linear detector. The measurement precision may be influenced by the system noise, the linewidth of the laser, the divergence angle of the beam, the spatial variations in intensity of the incident and scattering light before they come to the interferometer and the inner structure of the detector. These factors are analyzed to provide suggestion on how to improve the measure precision..

The intensity of forward-scattered light is measured by the forward-scattering visibility sensor, which determines the extinction coefficient of the air, then the visibility can be obtained. Based on the described principle and considering the characters of the light scattering in fog, a forward-scattering visibility sensor is constructed. A modified calculation formula between the measured intensity and visibility is given by comparing the intensity measured outside in fog and visibility recorded. Comparison test on the constructed visibility and a foreign one is also carried out outside in fog..

The technique of polarization has been applied to measure the polarization properties of atmospheric scattering radiation. The state of polarization of atmospheric scattering has the mutable character in time and space. It requires that the instrument has the capacity of obtaining the measurement data in real-time. A new type of polarimeter has been developed for this requirement. The radiation value of three polarized transmission optical axis is obtained at the same time using this mode of system, which can get polarized characteristic of target in real-time. The structure design of software and hardware is presented. A kind of signal sampling system is introduced. This system uses the USB sampling card as its core component. The instrument is calibrated using of integral sphere. The calibration data are analyzed. The results show that the system meets the requirement of atmospheric polarization detection..

Rochon prism is a familiar polarizer and beam splitter prism in laser technology. When using different refractive index of the glue, the light transmissivity is different. In addition, the two surface of the cementing layer is not always strictly parallel. And therefore its deflection angle and transmissivity is different from the value of the order. The influence of the refractive index and the non-parallel on the transmissivity and the deflection angle is researched using the knowledge of polarization optics and origin software. The result indicates that the refractive index is bigger, the transmissivity of light o, e is bigger, the splitting intensity ratio is bigger. The splitting intensity ratio of Rochon prism is strongly influenced by deflection angle θ. The different declining direction bring to the different transimissivity. The influence of θ on deflection angle is opposite to the influence on transimissivity..
