Interface reaction for gold-silicide formation induced by an acousto-optic Q-switched frequency-doubling Nd:YAG laser

The chemical reaction of Au and P-type (111) oriented silicon on the surface induced by an acousto-optic Q-switched frequency doubling laser is reported. The samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy (XPS), metallurgical microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and four-point pThe chemical reaction of Au and P-type (111) oriented silicon on the surface induced by an acousto-optic Q-switched frequency doubling laser is reported. The samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy (XPS), metallurgical microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and four-point probe resistivity measurements. X-ray analysis generally showed the coexistence of non-uniform multiphase au-silicidea since their composition yaryed with depth, i. e., there is a "transition region". This demonstrated that the reaction took place preferentially at the interface between gold and silicon. It is well known that the Au-Si phase diagram has a lowest en tec tic point of 370 ℃ which was determined by extrapolation of the two branches o± the liquidus curve and therefore is rather uncertain. Thus, the gold-silicon reaction produced Au-silicides rather than Au-Si mixture. In this case heating and cooling rates achieved by the scanning beam are of primary importanco..

A method of suppressing noise for SAR optical processing system

Optically pumped submillimeter-wave laser in formic acid vapor and in formic acid-methanol vapor

Self-guiding method for ruling diffraction gratings

A new method, "self-guiding method", for ruling long diffraction gratings is advanced in this paper. The key point of this method is that the grating being ruled plays a role as a datum grating to lead a photoelectric controlled ruling engine to continue its ruling. The spectrum quality of them is as good as a general one, the actual resolution power of them with 50 mm width is about 90% of the theoretical value. Quantitative analysis and experiment of Foucault knife-edge test

Effect of temperature and pressure changes on the image shift and the secondary spectrum correction

Coupling coefficients between TEMnp modes and hollow dielectric waveguide modes

In this paper, the field distributions of the linearly polarized modes EH1m and LPnm(n≥1) are discussed in the large radius hollow dielectric waveguides. The latter is certainly linear combinations of the degenerate waveguide modes. Approximate solution of infrared spatial scanning equations for combustion gases flow

The inversion of low resolution infrared scanning equations for a cylindrically symmetrical combustion gas flow is investigated with CO2 (4.3?m) as emitting and absorbing medium. The Lorentz line random band model, exponential-tailed S-1 line trength distribution function and Curtis-Godson approximation are used to expThe inversion of low resolution infrared scanning equations for a cylindrically symmetrical combustion gas flow is investigated with CO2 (4.3?m) as emitting and absorbing medium. The Lorentz line random band model, exponential-tailed S-1 line trength distribution function and Curtis-Godson approximation are used to express the ransmissivity. An iterative solution of the radiation transfer equation for the temperature profile is established assuming a known absorbing gas concentration distribution. Numerical experiments show ihe iteration is simple and converges quickly with a high calculation accuracy. The temperature solution is stable 1o the intensity. Analyses show the influence of intensity error on temperature solution could be expected weaker, if the temperature is lower and the wavenumber used is largeAn approximate formular to calculate the absorbing gas concentration profile from the radiation transfer equation and the transroissivity equation Is derived. The inversion of the active infrared scanning equations is formed by combining the concentration formulae and the temperature iteration. Numerical experiments show the inversion is simple and accurate enough for the temperature measurement in engineering applications..

Study of imaging performance of high speed raster photography

This paper describes and analyses the imaging performance of high speed raster photography with two dimensional pulse functional array. The lenticular plate has been used in the optical system to get the point-array-image of the raster plate which corresponds to the object. The high speed raster photography can obtain the higher relative brightness and lower resolution of image as compared with the conventional high speed photography. Performances of the two-prism beam expanding system in dye laser resonator

Various performances of the two-prism beam expanding system in dye laser resonator are studied. The system possesses not only good beam expansion and collimation for the laser beam, but also good filtering and tunning functions. The angular dispersion formula of the two-prism beam expanding is derived and proved in theVarious performances of the two-prism beam expanding system in dye laser resonator are studied. The angular dispersion formula of the two-prism beam expanding is derived and proved in theory, by using a tunning resonator composed of such a system without etalon, the narrowband tunning laser output with bandwidth ~GHz (~0.001 nm) can be achieved. The laser output bandwidth <4 GHz is experimentally obtained. The theoretical basis (angtilar dispersion formula of a multiprisms system) for getting <1 GHz narrowband laser is given too. In addition, advantages of the double(mixlti) prisms system-small reflection loss, polarization operation, easy adjust are analyzed. It indicates that two(multi)prisms beam expanding system is on ideal optic component with multifunctions (expanding, filtering and tunning)..

Raman spectra of LiTaO3 crystal and directional dispersion of extraordinary phonons

A satisfactory right angle scattering geometry has been found to determine the directional dispersion of extraordinary phonons in LiTaO3 crystal. Ten specimens with different orientations were prepared and the surfaces of which were coated with antirenecting film to eliminated the additional scattering due to the interA satisfactory right angle scattering geometry has been found to determine the directional dispersion of extraordinary phonons in LiTaO3 crystal. Ten specimens with different orientations were prepared and the surfaces of which were coated with antirenecting film to eliminated the additional scattering due to the internal reflection. A series of ordinary phonon and extraordinary phonon Raman spectra with different angle between the wave vectors and optical axis have been obtained. Four A1 and nine E optical phonons are assigned and thirteen directional dispersion branches are determined. Since all the peaks of extraordinary phonons could be observed simultaneously in same Raman spectra of extraordinary phonons, the directional dispersion branches could been determined without any ambiguity. The experimental results of the directional dispersion of the extraordinary phonons are in accord with the theoretical aesults calculated by the formula for uniaxial crystal..
